and what's your problem ?
i have a crap score which means my gfx aint running to its full performance
That score is about right for a GF4.
They are not direct X 9 cards.
I'd guess if your ran 3dmark2001SE you'd get around 12500-13000
ahh thats the problem direct x 9 ? shall i unistall it then?
no, the GF4 cards are a "Direct X8" only card, this means they do not support the extra addons that DX9 offers.
The only DX9 cards are the Radeon 9*00 cards and the GeForce FX cards.
If you go to futuremark.com you can see the "hall of fame" where you will see that the GF4 cards are only just inside the top ten.
You can also compare your "project" to other 3dmark projects to see how your setup is compared to a similar setup etc.
GF4 does support some of the dx9 capabilities, just not officially, so you have to buy a new grapics card to support dx9 officially. Marketing ploy.....
dx9 doesn't offer that much more capability anyways.
your score is pretty much as i would expect. your score maybe low in comparison to more recent graphics card supporting DX9, this isn't a problem with your software and there is no need to install/uninstall anything, this is the score the benchmark has been designed to give you. Just because you have a low score in comparison to other cards does not mean your graphics card is bad or won't run games well. I suggest you try it out in some real world applications and enjoy it.
imo, 3dmark03 should not be used as a benchmark to show how well games will perform, as it doesn't! it fails dismally in this department! at the moment it's only purpose is to stand as an overclocking competition, and with that only a graphics card overclocking competition!
how do u over clock with it?
You don't, you benchmark your gfx o/c with it.Quote:

you benchmark at default speeds.... not changing any settings with your card under Display properties and get a scare...
lets say 2000
Now you go away, play with settings and overclock your equiptment.....
lets say after running the benchmark again... with your equipment overclocked you get 3000 marks!!
because of this cool score you run away and submit it to a table of highscores... This table of high scores is listed on the Internet for all to see and because of this, competition for the highest score begins.
What was once designed to be a tool to guide users on system performance, has since become an arena for competition...
If your asking about how to overclock your card, try this

Theres more to life than your 3dmark scores.....
This is very true....Quote:

There is also more to life than say "Football". But where there's competition there is popularity and many people will participate in the said action/sport/hobby etc.
At one end of the spectrum you have the addicts that play all-day everyday. Yet at the other, fans of the sport that only play on very few occasions.
Would you throw a comment of the like to your favourite hobby/sport? Probably not....
You may realise that the comment is true, but its something you enjoy doing.... So who cares?!
Yes you are right, but i just think people should'nt be getting stressed or jealous of someone elses system, which obviously happends to alot of people when there into pc hardware.Quote:

3DMark2003 is so biases its useless. It completely a video benchmark. (and biased to 3d manufacturers who pad their wallet) You can run a Pentium II and get nearly the same score as a P4 3Ghz (with same video card).
3dMark2001 is a good tool. I don't understand why they screwed the pooch on 2003 and made it SO DX9 videocard dependent.
Acid, put the pic of your chick where I can see her ta-tas. lol
