My proview finally died (yay) now i have an excuse to replace it!
Has to Be DVI and if has HDMI is good but not essential.
Looking for a good 22-24 inch monitor, can stretch to £150ish if I have to but really the cheaper the better!
Would prefer a non TN panel if possible but if is a good TN panel then its all good!
So some suggestions please.

The best thing would be to look on the websites of the major computer components retailers and see what monitors they have in your price range. You can check what panel types they have by checking certain websites.
Also look at companies which deal in new old stock monitors and factory refurbs too as you can older monitors which have better panel types. For example older monitors like the Samsung 215TW and Gateway FPD2275W are good PVA type LCD screens.
TBH I think that unless you get a one off bargain(off somewhere like Ebay) or a second screen you are going to find it very difficult(or impossible) to buy a 24" screen good for colour reproduction for only £150.
24" screens with good colour reproduction which are not TN types are over £350 to £40. Also you need to use a colour calibrator to make sure that the colours are calibrated in the first place as many monitors do not come out of factory calibrated in the first place(it also depends on which colour space you are using too).
I would say do your research on what 22" or 24" monitor fulfil your requirements first and then keep your eyes open for a bargain. If the new 22" Dell which has an e-IPS panel is around £200 it would be interesting to see if any budget 24" screens with an e-IPS matrix may also come out in the future.
If anything the only screen I could think off which will fit you purposes and not be priced OTT would be the PVA version of the 24" Digimate L2442WD. It was around £200 to £250 new though.

TBH I would get the Dell as it is an 8 bit IPS screen.It is probably better to save up the extra cash too. Most of the cheaper screens are 6 bit TN types which can display less colours and hence are useless for decent colour reproduction which is important if you are a photgrapher.
I'm with cat-the-fifth on this. you won't find many if any non-tn panels at your price range. the best choice for a cheapish pva panel is the digimate thats already been suggested. but you have to be a bit careful, because they used to be pretty much all pva panels in those monitors but there's been a lot of talk that its more of a lottery now as to whether you get a pva or tn panel.Quote:

You could look into the BenQ E2200HD, the monitor I'm following at the moment as well! It seems to be in your price range (when I checked Ciao). It has a 24" brother as well, but that exceeds your price range (mine as well). The E2200HD does come supported with HDMI + DVI, 1080p, 2ms GTG, and it seems to be under £170ish, but I'm pretty sure you could find it cheaper at a local store near you. Oh right, it also has the 16:9 ratio, so if you game it really helps as a lot of games now a days work with 16:9 (but if you do game you should know). Acer and Asus make great monitors as well, if you want to broaden your perspective. I also think you should consider warranty on monitors prior to purchasing them! I'm pretty sure that BenQ and Acer offer 3 years warranty in the UK, not so sure about Asus though.Quote:
