    Question 4870 - How Big?

Just been given a PC rebuild to cost but have a minor stumbling block to consider:

How much space is needed to successfully fit a 4870?

The model under consideration is Powercolor's AX4870 1GBD5.
The case is an old Coolermaster Wavemaster.

A simple depth measurement may be enough but I'd also like to know if the power socket(s) are end of side facing as it will effect the fitment!

Ta for any and all advice in advance

If you have a 8800 for comparison, its that long.

    Hmm I have a 9800 Pro in the PC's sister chassis ......

    Maybe a better question then:

What's the best gfx card that's 9.5" long or less?

    Re: 4870 - How Big?

The referance card is around 9.5" long:

    http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers...4870-size.html

You will need a bit more space so the PCI-E power connector can fit.

    Nice one Cat.
I should just be able to squeeze the card in with careful positioning of the hard drives.

I have a coolermaster centurian 5, which I think shares chassis with yours, and my reference 4870 fits with plenty of space spare.
