On my recent build with above Mainbord and build in 3200 hd, Through my hdmi the picture quality is poor, am using latest drivers and software, but the problem is that the video gets grainy and a bit pixel-lated /hazy when watching full screen. The video is clear, however in a small window.
I would not use it for normal windows or internet browsing either, while very bright but not at all clear compared to my 15" lcd connected through vga.
It's not that anything is faulty, I don't think. but rather we the consumers are simply being coned in to believing something that is not true.
My questions are, should hd be better quality than vga? If so what card would offer me this, and has there been any like for like comparisons with 32" or above hd tv's?
And didn't we have a consumer watchdog, what happened to them, if false claims are being made or good are not offering as described, shouldn't they be checking these things?

Unlikely to be an issue with the board, tbh. What model / resolution is your monitor? From what you describe it could be that your TV has a large pixel-pitch, which means each individual pixel would be more noticable, or that your playback software is not making correct use of the hardware upscaling acceleration offered by the 780G chipset. The second one sounds more likely if the picture is clear in a window.
VGA connections are good up to 1920x1200 so in terms of picture quality you shouldn't see a huge difference with HDMI - as I understand it the main advantages of HDMI are enhanced colour reproduction and - in the case of the Radeons - audio passthrough.

Hi, am using Vistron 32" hd with Samsung panel, I've tried everything, including downloading latest drivers and control center from ati-amd and maxed out all the settings to best quality but still no good.
As for software I've tried XP, with Cyberlink Power Cinema-5, Progdvb, Unbuntu with Xine engine it's a same with all. Like for like my vga monitor is much better and I can see much clear what am typing.
I've not tried much on the sound side of things yet, need to test my 2.1 speaker system.
Really hope that future driver update would fix things and it's not the hardwares fault, otherwise not worth the spend. Or I am gona have to buy another card, but can't be sure that is going to be any good though.

The problem isn't the board. It is the video.
If you try to scale a small 640 x 480 clip to 1900x1200 it is going to appear grainy because it is trying to scale it up 3x.
It is like trying to print a 1 megapixel photo on A3 vs a 10 megapixel in A3. You can't get the system to fill in detail that isn't there isn't there in the first place (interpolation tries that but it doesn't work)
