    Talking Which card for gaming?

A friend of mine is still running an outdated AGP system (2 GHz single core with 1.5 GB of RAM) which he uses for gaming from time to time. He recently asked me if i could get him a new graphics card as he wanted to play some newer games (he mostly plays halo 1 & 2 but with low settings).

The thing is i have no idea about AGP cards so i was wandering if anyone could suggest me a good card. He has a budget of around £50, although it could prolly be a bit more

    Re: Which card for gaming?

Thanks for the reply. I've emailed my friend to see what he says about the price (looks to be about £80 new). Anyone got any other suggestions for a cheaper card?

For AGP, second hand is almost certainly going to be best.....but you aren't going to get much choice.

Something like a 790GX board and cheap CPU/RAM might be a better purchase, although that obviously isn't what he wants!

Thanks for the input. I've already tried pursuading him to get a new board but he says he wouldn't use it that much so it isn't worth it.

    Re: Which card for gaming?

The Corsair will be more than enough for an HD3850. I was just checking in case he/she had a el-cheapo PSU which would probably blow up if an HD3850 was added to their system!!
