Ummm, unless it's folding I can't see a lot of purpose for that... In fact, how does that even work for anything else besides individual machines with 4 cards per system?
He offers a card for someone who comes up with a good name for it -
I thought of -
P.O.W.E.R
Power Overload Work (and) Entertainment Rig
tictac penis :)
Apparently the video is faked and the rig doesn't belong to that person.

and yes the actual rig is used for folding, more info and pics here:

quadro is going to much more effective... this guy needs to donate to the geek orphanage... i want one
wouldn't it just be LOADS cheaper to buy and run 23 PS3s?
and surely they can crunch out more WUs than the GTX295s can?
ps3's are 'ok' for folding but nothing compared to gtx295's and will use much less power per unit
A GTX 295 pushes around 14000 ppd apparently, compared to 900 on a PS3? More than 15 times as much, and you get better gaming!
Yeah PS3 were amazing for folding. They haven't progressed since release though, where as the PC market has moved on in leaps and bounds.
It's the way of the console :)
exactly, ps3's get dicked on by almost any gpu. ps3 uses around 250 watts at full load, so comparable to the gtx295
Meh!! I was never much into this folding malarkey TBH!!
Rather not stress my PC all the time together with the fact it will also raise the electrical bill too!!
I saw part of the computer farms at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Cambridge when I went there for a tour!! There must be a lot of processing power there!! :)
