can anyone tell me how i set up my 98se AIW so i can watch tv on my pc.
i bought the card second hand and it did not come with a manual.
i've got a variety of cables but i don't know how to set them up so i can get a picture through the software that came with the multimedia centre
can anyone help? PLEASE!!!!!!
Erm, well... I put a TV card in my girlfriends PC, and then connected the TV ariel from teh roof of the house to the card... not sure if its the same with the AIW.
The arial connector is the one thats on the back of the actual card, just wack the arial in there. You may need a patch from microsoft if you're running DirectX 9.
The big purple cable is where you plug in all the other inputs, s-video et all. Goes into far left plug IIRC.
The other cable is for the a\v outputs. For the sound, the headphone type connector goes into your sound cards line in/mic. It should be obvious which cable plugs into the actual card, this goes next to the monitor cable
Et voila you're ready to go (assuming this makes any sense to you at all)
patch can be found here mate - this enables the TV tuner tab in the tv setup program (if its not there already of course) - will be needed to tune your channels once you've figured out all the cables ;)Quote:
