    Which PSU for a GTX275?

Many review i've read suggest max system power draw is barely up to 400W. However, most manufacturers suggest a 550W PSU.

Any thoughts? Mine is a 2 year old Akasa 460W and i am thinking about upgrading, perhaps to be able to cope with dual GPU's but at the moment if i can stick i will.

    Any thoughts?

I would upgrade to a nice 650W PSU, Corsair do a nice range... This should handle the one GPU no problem at all but I would recommend 850W if you want a dual graphics card configuration.

Corsair 850w should be plenty if you want room for a second GTX275 in the future.

Some kind of 850W was certainly what i had my eyes on. I wanted to make sure there was some expandability in the system if possible. What is the life expectancy of a decent PSU these days?

Re: Which PSU for a GTX275?

I had a look around and I found out that the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) on the Corsair 650W PSU is 100,000 hour(s), I hope this helps.

It would indeed, I would assume a system that would be running that long would be considered as ancient and you would be generations away from the technology you have now..

Just dont do what i did and rush into it and buy something that 'works' if your going to being going for SLI or Crossfire in the future then i would adivse these seeing as ive been studying into PSU a lot since i hashed up and baught a diobolical one!

or if you want to keep the price down.

i was advised to buy that PSU but stupidly didnt.

The top one is for if you are pretty sure about going duel by the way! if not then just stick to the OCz one.

Re: Which PSU for a GTX275?

Thanks for the advice. I think my main concern is making sure it has enough PCI power connectors for 2 cards.

Re: Which PSU for a GTX275?

Any power supply that has been recommended will work, they will all have the required connectors you need. Its just what is in your budget. By the way OCZ do make really good PSU's
