The Thermaltake Sorb should be compatible as long as the pins on the 4890 are the same as 4850 and 4870.

The pin out is not the same, thats not to say the layout isnt the same.

Well i've read a couple of posts on other forums where people are using the Scythe on a HD4890 with no mention of modding or incompatability. Still, I'm going to give the gard a good hiding with the stock cooler & if that's ok, then i'll keep it as-is.

Just bought a Sapphire HD 4890 so also looking. I think the Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo (fuel injected twin exhaust superchipped) sounds promising. I have read some people having to mod a ram cooler or two but temperatures and sound seems to be reduced quite well.
