HD4770 overclocking review!!
Not too bad:

It surpasses the HD4850!! Considering that I have seen an HD4850 for £86(excluding delivery) it may mean that the HD4850 could be phased out and replaced by HD4770 overclock editions.
Re: HD4770 overclocking review!!
In this review they reach over 900mhz(!) for the core:

Power consumption when overclocked is also still quite good.
Re: HD4770 overclocking review!!
Amazing, 15-20% improvement on an already impressive card.
Re: HD4770 overclocking review!!
The HD4830 which is being replaced by the HD4770 is also a very good overclocker. Many of them will do 650mhz+ on the core with many overclocking to around 700mhz. Another win for ATI!! :)
Re: HD4770 overclocking review!!
Duly noted. I installed my 4830 today. Stock XFX fan is reasonably good. Very overzealous at idle (runs at 60% or so speed running at 40C ish). However, cut it to 40% and you get 500rpm which is excellently quiet. Still going to stick a T-Rad on it though :)
Re: HD4770 overclocking review!!
So the second review uses the reference card rather than the retail model, and the first review doesn't say for sure but implies it's using the reference card too.
Seeing as how it's been identfied that there's quite a difference in the power circuitry (see the 25th post on this page with the big photos) between the reference model and the one in retail I'll take these with a grain of salt for now, but interesting none the less...
Re: HD4770 overclocking review!!
In all the reviews of the retail HD4770 CCC has been used for overclocking IIRC so it would be useful to see how far can the cards can be overclocked with 3rd party software like Rivatuner and ATITool.
