    Question Quad HD - When?

I recall seeing demos of these 3840x2400 (ish) screens being bandied about at expos a couple of years back but since then, have any actually reached mass production?

    Re: Quad HD - When?

Westinghouse and Samsung are the only two producing sets, and I think they could be limited to demos, not realy production.

I can't see there being any demand for them for another 10-15 years, certainally not in the consumer space. Medical imaging is one of their main market segments. Being able to display high resolution x-rays, CT scans, etc. and viewable by several people would be a bonus to them I'm sure.

Oh, and there is footage at this resolution, it's known as 4k. old film is often scanned at this (especially 64mm) and then scaled down to something else for broadcast or imaged back to film for sending to cinemas.
