    NV40 pics

For those that haven't seen it:

    http://www.bodnara.co.kr/bbs/?imode=...gory=33&lp=ko_

2 molexs seems like marketing to me rather than any real need - you can't tell me you're exceeding the maximum current for a molex connector...

    2 DVIs is nice though
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

Yeh nvidia said there's no need for the d-sub connections anymore since TFT's are taking over. Seems pretty cool

That's nothing new, my 9800se AIW didn't have a d-sub connector either, they just slapped in a dvi-vga adaptor

    They will

Even all current DVI cards have them (and that includes most of the 1 sub D and one DVI cards)

The slightly disturbing thing on that photo is the need for 2 power sockets..

Yeh they will do but the foreign explanation says otherwise

    D_SUB+DVI+TV_OUT
It's true though, TFT's are taking over.

It looks like the card has an outline of where the heatsink will go. It's going to be huge!

Dual power is just on AGP, the PCI-Express version will have enough to pull the power

It's gone! - Obviously got pulled.

Just imagine a FX5900 with the heatsink off, two molexs and two DVI connectors at the top of the page

Even better - I've found some copies elsewhere:

    From : http://www.nvnews.net/

    NV40 revision A2 - clocked at 475MHz core and 1.2GHz memory (GDDR-3)

    16 pipelines - 3DMark2001 single-texture fillrate of 7,010 MPixels/sec and multi-texture fillrate of 7,234 MPixels/sec

Pixel shader performance - ranges from 2.5X to 5X over GeForce FX 5950 Ultra (I've heard up to 7X in extreme cases)

Antialiasing in screenshots - 4X RGMS (rotated grid multi-sampling)

Max anisotropic filtering - 8X with tested driver, but might see 16X

Gameplay performance - 2.5X to 3X faster than GeForce FX 5950 Ultra using high resolutions with AA and AF

Image quality - "far far better"
Will you be having dessert tonight sir? Sure, why not.

    Halo - 1600x1200 - no AA/8X AF - 51.1fps

    Far Cry - 1600x1200 - no AA/no AF - 53.4fps

    UT2004 Botmatch - 1600x1200 - 4X AA/4X AF - 71.9fps, 1280x960 - 82.9fps

    Star Wars Kotor - 1600x1200 - 4X AA/8X AF - 49.3fps
    System Specs - Athlon 64 3200+, Gigabyte GA-K8VT800 (VIA KT880) Mainboard, 1GB PC4000 RAM, 160GB SATA HDD.

Updated: UT2004 results are from a dual Opteron system. Mmm, double the helping!

The screenshots before they were pulled :

there WAS one with 4 I'm sure of it

and that was only a bit shorter than an AWE 32 sound card

Can you IMAGINE the HEAT a vid card needing 2 MOLEX connectors will create I mean.....blimey......whats the max pemissable current and voltage combo on a MOLEX anyway......it must be QUITE high cos its a big old plug.

MY THOUGHTS on this are that the Manufacturer is concerned that the PSU will be the restricting factor THEREFORE if they demand more than one MOLEX before it will boot....EITHER you'll have to unplug summit else OR you will already have a nice PSU.

Imagine the nightmare with the MOLEX splitter

...now THATS gonna need an external exhaust vent, innit?

Unless I'm coming at this all wrong and its the PCB that neds two inputs to prevent IT frying ....hmm......

    just my thought train
