Passive 4770- near/sub-4850, no fan... Nice.

EDIT: Those fans look familiar.. Arctic Cooling is my guess.

Ugh this is annoying, you made me look at the 4770 again xD. Now looking at the hexus benchmarks etc it seems the 4770 is about 40w less than the 4850 and performs the same if not better, how reliable is this?. The 4850 on that site is about 10w on load higher than the 4770 and its not the vapour x model of the 4850 which is the one im looking at.

Whats better to get? 4850 Vapour X (£80) or the 4770? Preferable the more energy efficient the better, if its 10 or 20w difference than it doesnt matter but if its more then probably does.

Re: First HD4670 AGP and non-reference HD4770 pictures!

Max draw on the 4770 is 80w, 4850 is 110w.

The 80w is definite, the 110 from here: http://computershopper.com/graphics-...radeon-hd-4770 Not a real source but it sounds about right, considering the 4770 being 40nm and all.

As for reviews guru3d's lost some cred with me lately, they seem increasingly biased, maybe that explains the 4770 being reviewed 10 days early on their website, and being almost exactly level with the 4850, at stock.

    http://www.overclockersclub.com/revi..._hd4770/12.htm
This shows the OC'd 4770 being within touching distance of a 4850, which seems much more reasonable. If you OC outside CCC, you can probably match/edge out the 4850.

If I were to buy one now, I'd go for the 4850, for a quality custom cooler seems a good result - not to mention that the 4770's are on backorder in most places

When were the last AGP only motherboards sold in volume? It must be at least 5 years ago. Who would put a brand new graphics card in a 5 year old system Let AGP die I say.
