but.. with my monitor being 2048*1152 resolution, will it work?

anyone know?
You will not get the native resolution, either 720p or 1080p.
what other resolutions does the monitor support? and what is the monitors aspect ratio ?
I'll either box it, or stretch the image.
I'm not sure which on VGA, but the image will work fine.
Just buy the cable and flick through the various resolution and set to widescreen if need be :)
Will work fine, but will stretch it slightly.
I used to play my Xbox via the VGA cable on a 1440x900 monitor before the NXE update (before the resolution was supported) and it worked fine, just stretched a little.
Set your PC to 1920x1080 and see if you like what you see.
I tried that in a couple of PC games and thought it looked good enough for gaming.
thanks for all the input so far guys :)
much appreciated.
one last thing....
was going to order this cable here :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VGA-HD-AV-Cabl...3%3A1|294%3A50
but it says on the description :-
but... on the xbox 360 websiteQuote:
# The High-Definition connection for TVs / Plasmas / TFTs / LCDs and monitors with VGA inputs
# DV-15S Standard VGA Connector
# Video output settings of 480p, 720p, or 1080i
# Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound output
# 6-foot long shielded cable
# Order before 3pm monday to friday for same day shipping.
it says :-
so.. will the VGA cable support full 1080p or not?Quote:
DV-15S Standard VGA Connector
Experience High Definition movies and games at up to 1080p resolution
Also supports 480p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p
Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound output
8-foot long shielded cable
360 can output 1080p over VGA, but not all TV's support a 1080p input over VGA.
Please buy an official 360 cable for VGA though. While you'll find me moaning about rip off HDMI leads and £200 audio cables, I've had 2 3rd party VGA cables that both had issues where the official worked 100% everytime.
it's soooo much more expensive though :\
and it's just for a bog standard xbox that'll sit under my desk and only ever be used for Zombies on Cod5..
Ive seen some really shi t 3rd party cables also, so i bit the dust and got the official one but you dont get the gold-plated input/output with uber-1337 h4x picture quality when you get the Ms one  - However you do get a 2>1 audio jack which came in handy for me personally :)
