    Best monitor for me?

Budget: £140-150 max - Cheaper is better, but not if its a substantial loss in colour quality

Size 19" or 22". (performance vs screen size)
    Glossy Bezel
Vibrant/Bright colours to make games more enjoyable, currently i have an Acer al2016wb and everything looks pretty dull.

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143282 - 19"
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150966 - 22" or http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145472 22"

there is also T220 that i could possibly pick up second hand

    Re: Best monitor for me?

ah i forgot to mention, sorry. I will not go over 1680x1050 resolution purely because my gtx260 won't last long maxing games out at that. hence the option of 1440x900 or 1680x1050 only

    sorry, my bad cheers though

Looking at the press, your 260 would romp away with that resolution.

I am an avid player of crysis and its mods, and i barely manage a stable 30fps as it is, any higher would make it unplayable. that, and in the near future games will be ever more demanding.

Crysis - that would explain it.

    Re: Best monitor for me?

Can't you just play crysis on that monitor at a lower resolution but other games at the screen's native resolution? After all, the screen's physical size is about the same.

    Re: Best monitor for me?

You should check out the BenQ G2200W, it should be what you're looking for. 1680x1050, with 5 ms display, and DVI input. For your price range it should fit well. But why are you looking for 16:10? Is it because games fit the 16:10 display instead of 16:9?

I would also recommend the Dell 2209WA which has just about the same specs with the BenQ G2200W, but has a IPS panel instead. They both look kind of similar too. The Dell is a great monitor from all the reviews I've seen, but I've had my fair share of faulty products from Dell. Though their prices are hard to take your eyes off, I hate dealing with RMA procedures. I personally prefer to have to never deal with exchanges or returns. I think BenQ make great monitors, and I've personally tested with the G2200W myself, great monitor, but if you're willing to spend the extra bucks the best would be to go for the BenQ G2412HD at 24". I think the design and quality of this monitor was just superbly, for the price that it comes at as well: around $220 USD, I'm sure you can get it for cheaper too.

Here's the manufacture's website for more details on the G2200W:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, 2 GB DDR2, 500GB SATA-II 7200RPM, nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512mb, BenQ E2200 HD, BenQ G2412HD, Logitech S510 Wireless set, Creative GigaWorks T3 Speakers.

    Re: Best monitor for me?

Why would you ask? I understand that I talk about BenQ monitors quite a lot, but it is because I own and share my own personal experience and opinions with others. I do purchase and return monitors from time to time to test them out and see how they perform as a small hobby? In the past 2 years I gained a lot of interest and support in BenQ monitors. I was a Viewsonic fanatic earlier, until their higher prices drove me to alternative brands. There shouldn't be anything wrong with being biased with your own opinion, wouldn't you agree?

Every brand/product deserves a fan, even BenQ's cellphones, which I honestly despise.
