what gfx card to match new cpu?

    hi all.

ive recently purchased a e6700 to keep myself gaming @ a budget. ive currently got a 7950gt running with it, and atm its doing the job as im not playing particulary new games, but when the time comes when i buy a new game and its just not cutting it, what gfx card would have a similar preformence to the e6700. ie i want the best i can get for the cpu without throwing money away on a epic card just so the cpu can bottleneck my system.

    opinions plz,

    thanks from the new boy.

You did not specify what resolution and the games you want to run but a 4850, 4870 or GTX 260 are good value for money, but if you want to spend less then there is the 8800gt cards. If you want to spend more then 4890, GTX 295 etc.

    What is your PSU BTW??

I would say that an HD4870 512mb which can be had for around £100 delivered will be the best bang for buck graphics card ATM IMHO:

However you will need a reasonably decent enough PSU to run it though.

Re: what gfx card to match new cpu?

well you havent really given us much info :/

Whats the maxium resolution your monitor can go? for example: 1650x1080 or 1920x1200

Also are you going to overclock your CPU, if not id recommend a HD4850 or HD4870

if your res is higher than 1650x1080 i'd go for a 1GB XFX HD4870 XXX EDITION

    Hope that helps
