I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
Hi everyone,
I wondered if anyone could help me with a problem.
I've just put together a new PC and when I boot it up the monitor displays 'Power Saving Mode' and then switches off.
No beeps, and everything seems to be plugged in and I've cleared the CMOS. Not sure what else to do.
Any advise?
Thanks :)
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
mayby try the onboard video untill u install the drivers?
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
I don't think there is on-board video. At least I don't see anywhere to plug in the monitor??
Motherboard - Asus P5Q Pro Turbo
GPU - Saphire ATI HD 4850 512mb
Maybe the monitor is too old? LG 1717
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
Have you tried the monitor with a different pc ?
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
Yes, it works perfectly on another old PC...
:(
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
Hmmm okay. I'd suggest re-assembling the PC to make sure everything is connected properly, i know this sounds n00b but its worth a try. Make sure that the graphics card is firmly in the pci-e slot and the notch is down to lock it into place and also make sure the graphics card has its power connector in properly, in addition to all the other cables of course :)
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
OK, Tebinator - cheers.
I just tried another monitor - my TV on PC mode..? and it said 'No Signal'
Thanks for your time..
:)
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
It could be loose RAM or maybe you didn't put in the 12V cable next to the cpu.
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
OK, it's working now :)
Thanks everyone for helping..
Is there a way of checking the CPU temp in the BIOS at this point? Just want to know I put the right amount of TIM on it?
Cheers
:)
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
I found it,
39C. That's OK, isn't it?

Does the computer seem to boot up normally otherwise (ie it's just the monitor?)
Try plugging it into the other output from the graphics card, try switching sources on the monitor (if it takes different inputs).
edit: sorry, didn't see you had it working now, ignore!
Yes, 39C is A-OK
Re: I Need Help - Monitor/GPU
