Are there any GPU's which have the sockets to attach them to the power supply on the side of the card (the nearer the backplate end the better) rather than the far end? Something around 4870 kind of power preferably. Any help appreciated.

I know the GTX 260 and GTX 275 both have the power mountings on the top of the card instead of on the end like the 4870/4890. But they are still nearer the end of the card. If its cable length can't you get some extenders or something?
