Re: just a quick question
got a link to your mobo specs ?
Re: just a quick question
Re: just a quick question
well it does say it twice, so it must run at 4x
it wont be 4x slower but it may still be a waste of money
Re: just a quick question
right well i might as well keep my 9500GT then if its going to be a waste of money.
Re: just a quick question
I run an HD4830 on a PCI-E 8x slot and I see no performance hit TBH. To the OP first try both cards and if you so no improvment with the HD4770 do one of either two things:
1.)Keep the HD4770 and upgrade the motherboard at a later date
2.)Sell the HD4770 if there is no notceable performance increase. The HD4770 is a sort after card! ;)
Re: just a quick question
yeah but its x4 surely its going to have some hit on it
Re: just a quick question
I know with an HD4670 there is supposedly not much of a performance hit with a 4x slot.
Re: just a quick question
might as well try it, if its not worth it il sell it on here, im sure its a wanted card.
Re: just a quick question
I just saw this on CPU-z
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...eshark/x16.jpg
does that mean its running at X16 and not x4 becuase if it was surely it would say that instead?
Re: just a quick question
and this
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...eshark/gpu.jpg
it says its PCI-E x16 @ x16 so i assume that means the card is running at x16? so i think im in the all clear.

It could be that you have this motherboard:

Re: just a quick question
Ahhhh result :) its a shame the one i got it mixed with looks the same otherwise i would be able to know 100%
but at least i wotn have to worry about only have 25% the power of the card anymore. good thing i checked into that.
Re: just a quick question
it wouldnt have been as bad as 25% of the power, more like 80%
Re: just a quick question
Ahh well at least i know it will be running as good as it can :)
