    Question 17" gaming LCD

I've got funds left over from last term's student loan and I want to get a 17" LCD for about £300. The only thing is I've heard horror stories about converting to LCDs for gaming.

    Any suggestions?

Hi I got an Iiyama prolite 431S 16ms response time VGA and DVI input for around £312 all in from www.digi-uk.co.uk.
I spent ages researching as like you love my games. After reading many reviews went with the Iiyama (see review at www.custompc.co.uk)No ghosting on Call of Duty or Halo at 1280x1024 75hz (optimal settings).

That iiyama one is meant to be good, i think hexxy recommended it to me. I'm going to be buying a 17" gaming LCD asap so it's handy this thread popped up.

gameing TfTs dont really exist as of yet; you can't buy a tft for any money that matches the quality of a top end CRT monitor - whatever tft fanboys(andgirls) say.

Its true that they are getting much better, but I would say just get a decent CRT for that money.

(note i am not really talking about ghosting here, moreso the problem of colour reproduction and pure picture quality)

I've got one of the best CRT's there is but i still want a TFT tbh. I've checked out the hercules prophetview and i would deffo have that over my CRT.

Got to disagree here, although your points are correct - TFTs aren't as good as CRTs, but they're easily good enough for games now...if you haven't got the room a TFT is no longer something to regret having to buy, imo.

Ive only got a Samsung 753df atm so a TFT at that price should easily be better. The Iiyama one looks pretty nice. I was looking at the Neovo e17 - any good?
