Need 22/24" 1080p monitor for gaming

I'm so fed up. I've been through 3 monitors and I'm not happy with any of them. This is pure for Xbox 360 gaming on HDMI.

1. Benq G2400W - crap colour and contrast
2. Benq FP241W - Couldn't get it to display white! Could only manage a yellowy off-white. Also the lack of a glossy screen really makes the image edgy.
3. HP 2159M - not bright enough! Went for this because of the glossy screen and am generally happy except for the brightness. I have brightness at 100% and contrast at 80%.

Basically ready to give up all hope, but if anyone knows of the perfect gaming monitor for me that will give me:

1 - Brilliant, vibrant colours
2 - Enough brightness
3 - Decent contrast
4 - Gloss screen
5 - No bigger than 24"
6 - Preferably 16:9

I can recommend the LG TN panels, I have the LG W2343T but what's your budget ?

At the other end of the scale what about the Dell U2410 ?

The 22" dell monitoron OCuK should be decent enough for around £200 (this week only) it isnt a TN panel either so better picture quality as well!

Dell 2209WA = non-glossy coating
I really like mine but I get the feeling you won't be happy with it.

It doesn't burn my retinas so it might not be bright enough for you. It's aggressively matte and not in the least bit glossy. In certain light a black screen can appear to have a silver shine to it.

Good points. Colour accuracy. Viewing angles are great and the colour looks the same from all angles. Response. Contrast. Height adjustable. Landscape or portrait screen rotation.

Edit: And another thing that's wrong with this one for ya is it's not 1080p at 1680x1050

Budget - I guess around £500, though for that it better be perfect.

BTW for the moment I've switched back to the FP241W due to it's better colours and brightness. The edginess is still a pain though (presumably because it's non-gloss.

Have you looked at the Samsung T220HD?

Comes with all the bells and whistles of HD gaming, plus a tv tuner and remote to boot. There's also a 24" variant.

You should probably wait till October, as BenQ has already announced their new LED desktop monitors! They will be labeled as V2200 Eco and V2400 Eco monitors offering 22inch and 24inch monitors!

They should retail within your budget. They are going to offer the same 1080p Full HD display featuring an Eco-friendly appearance with 28% of it's shell constructed from recycled plastic! Do check out the following link!

I own the HP LP2475w Monitor and while it's absolutely amazing, it doesn't fit several requirements of the OP namely:

1 - Brilliant, vibrant colours (You don't buy H-IPS panels for artificially vibrant colours)
4 - Gloss screen
6 - Preferably 16:9

But the big plus for this monitor is that it's a H-IPS panel so viewing angles are brilliant.

That's a pretty nice looking monitor from the looks of it; I'll have to put that on my personal
considered updates' list. :D

The BenQ G2412HD is also quite nice. It's also an extremely popular pick! Great bang for your buck!
