That is some GPU, is there anything around which would support that?
What is it now... T-minus 8 days?
Afaik it launches on the 23rd so 9 days if my calculations are correct.
Fantastic. Unless Nvidia releases something amazing, I'm switching to ATI. I'm especially glad the 27W idle is accurate.
Probably won't buy immediately; not in a huge rush and it gives the other suppliers time to come out with the lower noise and cooler Vapor-X alternatives..
The question is whether Eyefinity supports CRTs as well as TFT. If so, I'm definitely looking at a six monitor version if the premium isn't huge over three.

Wow! Where did you get the graphics card from Pingu2003?? Thanks for the posting the pictures!!
Anyone have anything reliable on a 5870x2 date?
No. I currently have two CRTs and one TFT. When the CRTs die, I'll replace them with TFTs. There's the vague possibility I might add another TFT on a ceiling or wall mount VESA bracket to play around with.
I'll grant you that having something in the region of 240W monitor (2x100W CRT, 40Wish TFT) is possibly over the top. However, at least that wattage isn't being dispersed inside the computer case and doesn't depend on the limits of the PSU install.
Damn that card is fast, assuming the benchmarks are accurate.

This thread just became very bandwidth unfriendly.. any chance of a resize?!!
That card is mahoosive.. looks like they look a leaf out of nVidia's 260/280 book.
If those benchmark figures are accurate, we have a hit after all![]()
i've been seeing reports of Crysis running at a decent frame rate![]()
From all the talk and hype, I thought it was going to blow the 4870x2 away....not even close![]()

Still no photos of the power connectors?
Gotta be power hungry to beat the HD4870X2 by 17~ frames.
x6 x8 or x6 x6?
