HD 5870 first benchmark (of sorts)

Not exactly a great source but the best I've come across so far:

    http://bbs.chiphell.com/viewthread.p...extra=page%3D1

In short - to save you clicking the link:

    CPU:AMD Phenom II X4 955BE
    Win 7 RTM
    VGA:HD5870 1GB(核心频率高于零售版)

    Crysis 1900x1200 4AA+16AF DX10 Very High
    min:30.**
    avg:43.**
    max:54.**
If it's true then I'm impressed.

Plus thats with AMD BE, interesting to see if adding i7 would boost those stats as crysis can on ocasion be cpu-limited.

Re: HD 5870 first benchmark (of sorts)

crysis is often cpu limited because it uses a rather complex physics engine run off the cpu and almost everything in the world is effected by it, unlike in many games where it's only a small handfull of objects that have physics applied to them and the rest of the world is just fixed mapping.

A whole load more benchmarks are up:

    http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/f...hit-web-66284/

That first chart is really annoying as there is no scale, but you get the idea from it.

I wouldn't put my faith in any of these benchmarks (I still have high hopes though).
