Re: Monitor Advice Please
I would suggest that you look at the BenQ G2412HD, it is under £200 and would definitely satisfy your needs as it's a Full HD, 16:9 display, with 16.7 million colors of display! With the brightness of 300 cd/m(squared), it makes the G2412HD an extremely bright, versatile, and adaptable monitor.
It also comes with HDMI, DVI, and of course D-Sub connections. The display on the unit is absolutely brilliant and sleek.

Re: Monitor Advice Please
Depends how fussy you are I think.
For under £200 and looking for 23-24" I don't think you are going to like anything out if you're anything like me.
I too play FPSs mostly and found LCDs much too inferior. That is until I tried the 120hz 22" Viewsonic vx2268wm. By no means is it perfect and I still find CRTs superior in some games (old twitch shooters like UT99). But it is the only thing which has enabled me to move away from my CRT, all other LCDs with their 60hz screens simply don't cut it.
However, you're looking at around £250 for one of them.

Woo....some serious comments there !
I've used TN panels for gaming and they are just fine. I doubt that you would be disappointed with anything from Benq, LG, Ilama or Samsung who all have good panels in this price range.
I have seen the Benq recommended by Ars Technica and I have the LG, and there are plenty of posts liking the Samsungs. There are also some lower priced Dells in this price bracket as well. have you looked at some of the threads on here already ?
Re: Monitor Advice Please
For £200 and 24" i think you would be happy with almost any of the monitors on the market!!! at that price you cannot ask too much of them anyway. Just consider checking out your monitor on digitalversus.com to see how within the TN monitors they differ in terms of reactivity, colour accuracy and input latency.

I myself have a Samsung 24" and it's served me very well for a wide range of games - I recently bought a 19" Acer monitor for a budget build and am very impressed with it (especially given the price).

I just got one of these and its pretty good for the price. Its by no means a perfect monitor as im very critical but it has no noticeable input lag, its very bright, contrast is good plus it comes with dvi and hdmi.
Re: Monitor Advice Please
That's the good thing about BenQ monitors, a lot of them come with HDMI. The new E2420HD comes with 2 HDMI ports :)
Do check it out :)
