upgrade from 8800GTX to 5850 now?

    Hi all,

    need some opinions.
Should I upgrade to the 5850 now or wait on Nvidia's offerings?
Talking of which when will Nividia offerings be out?

Hoping for a sub £200 graphics upgrade.

    Thanks.

Re: upgrade from 8800GTX to 5850 now?

heard somewhere they would be available Monday?
Can't seem to google any decent info on the release of Nvidia's 300 release, anyone got details?

Been awhile since I last bought hardware and the 8800 just doesn't have the muscle for Fallout 3 at 1900x1200(native of monitor).

5850 is coming across as very very tempting right now.

Re: upgrade from 8800GTX to 5850 now?

No ETA on the new nvidia parts that I am aware of, I expect them to be a while yet....

If your happy paying £200 for thr 5850, then go for it. The other option of course, is leave it a week and see whats available second-hand.....I am sure a lot of Hexites will be getting 5800 parts and passing on their GTX200 and HD4800 parts in the classifieds.
