Sub £150 22" monitor

I'm looking for a 22" monitor for a combination of general PC stuffs (web browsing, some programming) and also some gaming (everything from fps to racing games). I'll also be using it for some occasional 3D work with blender.

I want to keep one of my current 15" monitors as a second screen (I like having 2 monitors) so 22" is the max that will fit on my desk.

I've searched the forums and for my budget the Samsung T220 seems to be fairly well liked, but is there anything else that I should be looking at?

Samsung makes great monitors, go for the T220, they've fallen in price too I remember when I was considering one and they were much more pricey about £200 I think.

I think the T220 is the successor to my monitor (the 2232BW), and my monitor is great.

I had a look at that one, and other 1920x1080 screens. I even went up to some of the big department stores to have a good look at the various different sizes/ aspect ratios, but I decided in the end that a 16:10 screen would be better as I do a lot of things involving large pages of text (e.g. browsing, word docs, programming etc).

Plus I won't be watching movies on this, as we watch movies on my gf's 24" iMac :) so I went with the Samsung, but thanks for the reply

i can definitely recommend this monitor to anyone, good colours, very little blurring and the resolution is awesome :D

you mentioned you have pages on screen.. this monitor can fit 2 sides of A4 side by side with a Vista Sidebar at the side aswell, just a thought.

Ye, but it doesn't have DVI. Quite a strange resolution aswell.

I'm not saying it isn't a good monitor, the reviews certainly look good. But I would still go with a T220 (IMO).

Hahhaha, so you got the T220 in the end? Great to hear, do you like it? It is true, that 16:10 is better for work, but on a 24" it's not as bad. On a 22 inch the difference seems more significant.

I did indeed get the T220 and its awesome! :) I really didn't think it would make as much difference as it has. I still have my 15" Dell as a second monitor, which is handy if I want to pull up a browser to look up something while I'm coding/ doing some 3D work, and difference, not only in size, but in clarity and definition is immense.

Very happy with my purchase :)

Good Good!!! Happy to hear, as long as you're happy man. That's the most important part. I think most users tend to jump into a decision too fast. Most of the time they're still happy with the purchase cause usually users who post threads are new to the 22" + monitor size so pretty much anything comparing to their original monitor will be better than what they have, but I think taking your time and deciding where your needs fall, budget and making comparisons are still important. I'm glad to hear that you're happy with your new toy, enjoy it = )

been considering getting a T220, but afew reports of Back light bleeding(white lines around the edge) is holding me back, how obvious are they?

Can't say I've noticed it, but then a) I haven't been looking for it and b) I came to this from a fairly low quality office-type monitor, so I'm not best placed to comment.
