    New ati 5xxx series coolers?

Just wondering if anyone has found any images of what these coolers look like under the shroud?

Just wondering how good a job ati has done or if they've taken a leaf out of xfx's 4850 design book?
i.e. just stuck on a big aluminium lump covering it up with a pritty shroud to make it look better than it is.

These articles shows the heatsink of the HD5870:

    http://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/..._card_review/4

    http://en.inpai.com.cn/doc/enshowcon...80&pageid=5910

If you look at the techpowerup review the HD5850 heatsink seems a pared down version of the one found in the HD5870:

The HD5770 cooler does not seem to use any heatpipes though:

Re: New ati 5xxx series coolers?

    Thank's CAT

techpowerup say the 5770 uses a flat vapour chamber, like the sapphire vapour-x
However that heat sink looks pritty small, without seeing it detached from the shroud it's hard to say.
One thing I did notice the 4770 has a normal looking PWM circuit, unlike the 5850 and 5870 which use a digital PWM.
Although the blower is over the top of it so it should get some air flow.
The combined ram & power regulator chip heatsink is nice, esp for replacement coolers as they tend to focus only on the gpu.
However it looks like that shroud doesn't let much air get to it.
