Windows 7 ATI CCC & NVIDIA GeForce Simultaneously?

So has anyone tried installing an ATI Radeon (and ATI drivers / CCC) and an NVIDIA GeForce (and NVIDIA drivers) simultaneously in Windows 7?

I thought I read somewhere that Windows 7 supports multiple video cards and drivers from different vendors?

I'd like to use a new Radeon 5770 w/ my motherboard which has an onboard NVIDIA GeForce 9300. I'll be using the 5770 w/ two LCD monitors and the onboard GeForce 9300 w/ an LCD TV.

I would hazard a guess that both will work, unsure on how the driver situation goes though.

Windows does support, nVidia does not. They are actively preventing using a competitors card with their drivers because they want to prevent people from using say, a 5850 for the monitor, and a GTX 260 for PhysX. I am not sure as to what the blocking does, or what versions are affected, but be mindful.

It just blocks PhysX (which can be unblocked). AFAIK it doesn't affect the normal opperation of the cards

Thanks for clearing that up. So OP, for your intended operation you should have no problems. Mkay?

Do you have a link or more info on that? I've thought for a while about possibly using the best bang for buck gpu (ie ati) but with a mid end nvidia card for physx (if I can be arsed and willing to spend).
Basically, got a 4870 in 1 pc and a gts 250 in another. should I ever be able to get a card that works with hybrid power sli I'd like to move the gts into the same pc as the 4870 for the above purpose.
Would like to know for future reference howto if you can.

"nvidia ati physx hack" in google will throw up endless info

Still, that few games use it, is it worth it?

Cheers agent. Like I say, it's if I can be arsed but if I have the hardware available I might as well use it to its full advantage.
