    Best low profile graphics card

    Hello,

I am building a small, clean and fast PC.

I already have a DVD-RW (although may get a faster one), a 22" monitor, QX6700 processor etc. so this is what I am trying to do:

Get a small mATX case and motherboard, a graphics card which will fit and will hopefully be the equivelant of an 8800gts 320mb, is this possible?

    Thanks for your help.

Re: Best low profile graphics card

A company called Sparkle makes a low profile 9800gt: here's a Google products search, CCL claim to have one in stock. That's as powerful as you're going to get LP - I believe performance wise it is roughly equivalent to an 8800GTS if not slightly ahead...

That's great, thanks. I have an 8800GTS but its a little broken and needs to be low profile so thats perfect, thanks.

Re: Best low profile graphics card

I was just wondering, would I be able to take the fan off and use a different one or not use on at all? In such a small space the gap between the input and output fans would be small and the airflow would be fast, would it be good enough?

    Only one way to tell

The stock 8800gt got pretty toasty though.
