    NEC EA231WMi Advice

Hi guys, after this monitor being mentioned on these forums a while back, I've been keeping an eye on it, and am thinking about biting the bullet. The only concern is the response time (14ms). I will be be using the monitor for gaming and web-browsing. Anyone able to vouch for this monitor, or offer other recommendations? Cheers all

14ms is a ridiculously low amount of time, it's only since TN was ABLE to produce 2-5ms response times because it seems better that people have said it's useful. You will notice no difference.

Ive been impressed with specs and price, but I haven't seen it in the flesh. The response time is quick enough that you wont notice, and it will more than make up for any difference with fantastic colour reproduction anyway.

Many people have got the HP LP2475W H-IPS screen on these forums for well under £400 using an HP discount code and Quidco. If you are willing to spend around £300 on the NEC I would spend the extra on the HP monitor.

A new monitor which will last a few years is a wise purchase. If you tell her that it will last at least 4 years then it works out as £75 per year or under £7 per month or under 25p a day. I could understand if you were all the time upgrading your PC all the time with very expensive bits but from looking at your PC specs I would say you don't and like me want to get a good few years out of any build with minor upgrades here and there.

    Re: NEC EA231WMi Advice

Haha, we had this exact conversation last night, asking how much my PC cost over the three-ish years I've had it, and how I'm getting an i7-based rig in March...so more £££s on a monitor really didnt fly
