    DELL 2709W Calibration settings

    Hello all, first post here.

I've been searching through Google for the last 2 hours, hoping to find user-added settings for a prober calibration for the DELL 2709W..

Has anyone had their 2709W calibrated correctly? And maybe put them on the internet? Currently my settings are:
    Preset Modes: Multimedia
    Brightness: 75
    Contrast: 85
    Sharpness: 100
    Dynamic Contrast: Off

    Yours sincerely, Chrash

I don't have that monitor but I set mine up using this as a guide.

I would think that with Brightness, Contrast & Sharpness all set that high you would miss a lot of detail.

Yeah, but I can't seem to get a perfect white without messing up the image.. Someone must have had their 2709W calibrated and shared their settings.. Somewhere

    Re: DELL 2709W Calibration settings

I have a 2709W, and it was calibrated with a LaCie blue eye pro proof edition for 5800k, gamma 1.9, and 120 cd brightness

    The relevant settings:
    brightness: 50
    contrast: 39
    R: 78
    G: 69
    B: 74
I use it through VGA, and gamma is only 1.9, and that should explain the brightness and contrast values.

    Re: DELL 2709W Calibration settings

I tried both those settings and they looked horrible. My RGB seems to be better in Sync - both those were heavily tinted - and both the brightness/contrast settings look too dull.

    Re: DELL 2709W Calibration settings

Because of the differences in graphics cards (mine is analog) it's very possible that a setting that looks good on one system looks awful on another one. My settings (targeted for press) are definitely slightly different from what is needed for most everyone else. Once I install a DVI video card (need to hack an x8 slot first) I will post new numbers for gamma 2.2 and 6500K.

    Re: DELL 2709W Calibration settings

You can't just grab calibration settings off of someone and expect them to work on your screen, not all screens are equal and as R2D2 correctly stated, neither are graphics cards, the best you can do without calibration is grab something like the AVS 709 disc off of AvsForum or get the DVE HD Bluray. These will allow you to set brightness, contrast and sharpness correctly, but not colour tone.
