    4890 card size?

During the summer I built a PC for my sister. I bought a Gainward GTX260 GS, however when I came to installing the card it was block by the HD cage of the case. The case is a Antec Sonata Designer 500.

Now all I need to know is, dose the 4890 stick out past the motherboard?

If anyone has any suggestions of an alternative card for around the £150 mark that will fit the case that would be great.

The 4890 is around 0.5 inches shorter than the 260.

An HD5770 is a reasonably short card and has around the same performance as an HD4870 AFAIK while having lower power consumption and DX11.

    Re: 4890 card size?

The price of the 4890 are about the same as the 5770 give or take £30.

Are there any real advantages to the 5770 as DX11 isnt really something my sister needs, unless a lot of rpg's come out using it.

All the reviews ive seen still have the 4890 faster than the 5770.

    Re: 4890 card size?

The HD5770 is around the same speed as an HD4870:

The main advantage of an HD5770 is its lower power consumption as it needs only one PCI-E power connector.
