Hmmm, most decent ones, LG Ilyama AOC etc. all have those sorts of specs apart from the widescreen bit, why do you want widescreen?

    G4 PowerMac - Tiger 10.4 - 512MB RAM
    MacBook - 2Ghz - 1GB RAM - 120GB HDD

    Rotel RC970BX | DBX DriveRack |2x Rotel RB850
    B&W DM640i | Velodyne 1512

Why not have a look at the Hyundai Q17S 17" TFT panel. Full spec at www.hyundiaq.com

ITs a 16ms screen, the lowest dead pixel warrenty in the industry, has a DVI port on the base, a USB II port on the base too (great for connecting cameras etc) and won massive credit from a review on Toms Hardware last year..

Its not widescreen, but to be honest why in earth do you want widescreen on a 17" screen! Going to look stupid imho.

The hyunida is available at all good resellers, and a few bad ones.

Let me know on here if you want a good recommendation (I supply these to the UK reseller base).

    Hope this helps

Thanks for your replies so far and welcome to the boards CoolCurly. Any way. I was wanting a widescreen because of my DVD collection. These days they are mostly in widescreen format arnt they? So i was thinking that a widescreen display would display the widescreen film better, or am i wrong?

another thing does colour depth matter on TFT screens? ie 16bit, 24bit ,32bit. Ive only seen one tft display with a colour depth of upto 32bit and that was on a laptop with hp. Weather it was a typeing mistake tho i dont know. but does this matter?

and thanks for directing me to toms hardware hes got a new tft pannel round up featureing 2 which claim 12ms response times, so im checking that out now. thanks once again
