    Re: GTX360 and GTX380 Benches!

Seems pretty good but who knows if they're real or fake? Regurgitating what guru3d said - It's the same presentation as Nvidia but it came from nowhere so can be dismissed as fake.

If they're real then pricing and TDP needs to be competitive as ATI are probably earning huge bucks haha.

    Re: GTX360 and GTX380 Benches!

TDP is going to be the key thing when they come out anyway. the more i think about it the more im impressed with how ATi got there wattage down and still perform admirebly, compared to the R700.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: GTX360 and GTX380 Benches!

The numbers were a little convenient, exactly mirroring the relative positions of the cards before the 5xxx series.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

I haven't seen benches on these cards yet, have only talked to people about their performance and feature set.

So this slide can fool me as easily as anyone else as I'm under the impression these cards will outperform their ATi counterparts, and offer more features.

When the cards launch I'll be happy to tell you why I felt comfortable saying they will offer a compelling alternative prior to any info leaking- there's one key factor.

    Re: GTX360 and GTX380 Benches!

I think someone "in the know" like you Rollo should have realised pretty quick that the slides were fake. There is simply no way that a GTX380 is going to be faster than an HD5970. For starters, it has about a billion less transistors than are in an HD5970.

    Hardly.
I could care less what you buy, not like I'm selling anything. When Fermi launches it will be pretty obvious to all what I was talking about.

As far as NVIDIA telling me nothing, in a way, they haven't. (at least as far as specific performance benches are concerned) I do know some things about it that aren't public knowledge though, and I'll be part of the pre-NDA press briefings and likely have a GF100 or two before launch.

    It's not a bad deal.

You: Post about video cards, get callouses on your fingertips.

Me: Post about video cards, get the callouses, plus free hardware and software, press privileges and access to industry insiders.

Tough call on who's having more fun with the posting about video cards. I mean, you do get the same callouses.
