    9800 pro overclock help

    Hi guys
Just fitted an Arctic VGA Silencer and want to give overclocking a go, i relize that for the overclock to stay after a reboot i need to flash the cards bios as to unlock it.
The card is an Sapphire Radeon 9800pro 128mb, the ram chips are "Samsung 316" k4d26323ra-gc2a.

the bios info taken from Ati control panel is

    Bios version : 008.004
    Bios part No : 113-A07502-106
    Bios Date : 24/03/03

If i go here and look at the bios available for the card all i find is the same version same bios so i am confused as to what to do next.

    Any help please.

get Omega's drivers which have Radlinker built in which will let you vary core & mem clocks.
When you have found settings that you like just click "use current" & next time the computer will boot with those settings.
it's a lot easier than flashing the BIOS.

Hmm thats weird i have radlinker from the omegas and did the above but upon reboot goes back to the defaults.

Ok i wonder if there was a conflict i also had Rage 3d tweak installed i have just uninstalled it, set the clock rates in the radlinker tab, rebooted and the clock rate stayed at the rate i was at, so i guess i do not need to flash the bios afterall.

    Thanks.
