Cat 9.12 crt refresh rate Issues

Anyone here fixed the issue with these drivers where you cant get refresh rates above 85hz really annoying. Using an Ati 5770 it was annoying enough trying to find out how to get gpu scaling to work.

Or has anyone tryed those 10.1 Cats that where leeked by MSI and know if this fixes the issue.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Re: Cat 9.12 crt refresh rate Issues

Desktop & Displays -> CRT icon dropdown -> Configure
Disable EDID and enter your maximum resolution/hz
    Sometimes a reboot is required

Failing that (or if you require settings not listed), I've been using the following method to squeeze custom resolutions/refresh rates out of ATI drivers for some time:

The above is an old install of windows xp with many versions of CCC installed over 4 yeas, hence the huge number of folders under "Video". A clean install will only have 2 actual folders. They will also be linked, so only 1 needs editing.

Re: Cat 9.12 crt refresh rate Issues

ok trying to follow this here but I have one issue. I run a duel screen setup. Is it possable to icolate my CRT there is DALNonStandardModesBCD2/1 and 2 would appear to to be the right one? By setting the Refresh rate I am just setting a maximum not an override?
Thanx very much for your help so far if this works I'll be very impressed.

Re: Cat 9.12 crt refresh rate Issues

Ok I now have CCC showing me a refresh rate of 120 Hz. But it does not appear to have worked the moniter is still displaying 85hz and windows only displays 85hz too. I thought you had cracked it. Anything I am doing wrong here?

Re: Cat 9.12 crt refresh rate Issues

The settings entered into DALNonStandard will be visible by all monitors. They are just extra modes available in the resolution/refresh area of CCC.
As for the EDID, you're only setting a maximum for the monitor (which will then allow the monitor driver to list all resolutions/refresh rates it has upto those maximums).

If 120hz is listed (from the DALNonStandard entry), but not being applied, you probably don't have the EDID manually overridden to monitors maximum.

Re: Cat 9.12 crt refresh rate Issues

This is what I can see now. Btw I should mention that I have looked up a few forums regarding issue and some people have said its an issue with 5xxx series and theres no fix? If you do get this fixed then you will be a savour I hate 85Hz my eyes hate me right now.
