    Hybrid cossfire query

Hi, I'm in the process of building a new PC. AMD phenom II 940 paired with a ASUS M3A78-T. The motherboard has a hybrid crossfire function, that allows me to fit a graphics card and combine the processing between the card and onboard graphics? Has anyone tried this? I don't do much gaming? Any recommendations on the add-on card, 4350's seems to be cheap enough but will it give much of an improvement when paired with the motherboard.

    Re: Hybrid cossfire query

If you don't game much it might not be worth the bother. The HD3300 graphics on board a 790GX mobo like the ASUS oyu're considering would be fine for casual gaming (i.e. 1024 x 768 @ low settings).

If you really wanted to play with Hybrid Crossfire, then your best options with that motherboard are an HD3450 or HD3470. Personally I'd go for an HD3470 - you can often pick them up on ebuyer at reasonable prices. An HD4350 won't work in Hybrid crossfire with that motherboard, and tbh an HD4350 on its own would probably beat Hybrid Crossfire in most games anyway. But as I said earlier, if all you're looking for is casual gaming at low resolutions, the onboard graphics from a 790GX would do fine.

    Re: Hybrid cossfire query

Hmmm, I know that the HD4200 in a 785G is meant to hybrid with low-end HD4000 series cards, but I thought the HD3200 (780G)/ HD3300 (790GX) would only hybrid with 2400 / 3400 series cards. Could be wrong though.
