    Question GTX295 @ reasonable price

Does anyone know where to buy a GTX295 at a decent price?
They either seem to be about £450 or about £350 and out of stock. I understand the old "supply & demand" argument but this has been going on for several months now.

I doubt they are making any more of them with the (supposedly) imminent release of Fermi.

Have a look at the 5870 or 5970 instead

    Re: GTX295 @ reasonable price

Could try 2x GTX275 in SLI if you are desperate but not sure they are going to be cheaper. In its next incarnation it may be cheaper. GTX395 perhaps

    Re: GTX295 @ reasonable price

I have ATI vs nVidia discussions at work. My mate stick to ATI, I stick to nVidia for CUDA reasons.
My MOBO only has 1 PCIE slot so 2X GTX275 is out :-)

I'll just have to wait a bit longer before I can BOINC any faster.

I'd advise you to wait for the Nvidia releases - shouldn't have to wait that much longer now!

    Re: GTX295 @ reasonable price

Yes the new 300 series should be out next month (I'm not including the 310 as it's not new, just a rebrand) even if they are too expensive/not that good it should push the price of the 200 series cards down a bit as places shift stock.
what little stock there is in the UK that is

    Re: GTX295 @ reasonable price

Ahh well at least that would make a bit of sense, breaking up the dx10 dx10.1 and dx11 cards into different series.

Nvidia have officially confirmed the model numbers!
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

So the 300 series is going to be full of "class leading" rebrands(tm)??

Farewell to the idea of getting a GTX295.
OK, looks like I'll be waiting to see if the Fermi Kick CUSA @ss like nVidia says it will.

Hopefully it will be ready by the end of march. Either way it will drive prices down.
