5850 Locked @ 60hz

Today I got my new 5850 and did the switch from nvidia to ati and it hasn't been problem free yet.

I can only seem to get 60hz in games and other fullscreen apps, even if I use the refreshlock in CCC or other programs like RefreshLock. I tried changing the DALNonStandardModes in the registry but it didn't help.

The monitor i'm using is a 2233RZ 1680x1050 and it works perfectly fine with 120hz as long as I am on the desktop.

I've got the same problem, but I'm using an old CRT screen. I've tried several different monitor drivers,

I even tried ripping the EDID pins out of the DVI to Dsub converter, but I'm still stuck at 60Hz! 8(

Powerstrip should do it...may take a little fiddling though!

They all fail at times.

I remember the lovely BSODs from nVidia drivers for Vista.....which lasted what seemed like a year+

And creatives.

I tried powerstrip, and customised monitor infs, I even found an EDID firmware flashing thingy but its no good for my old CRT.

I think it must be related to the Eyefinity surroundview feature somehow, maybe they just thought most LCDs users would care anyway,

but as a hometheatre user I'm a bit pissed about it.
