I need to replace the Iiyama 22" CRT VMpro511 beast that takes up 1/3rd of my desk.
I currently have a Samsung SM2232BW, which is a fantastic monitor, but want something a little bigger with a higher res. But my budget is 200-250 tops.
I was looking at the Samsung LS23MYZABC from Scan
I am also considering the Dell G-2410 LED to be a little greener![]()
1920/1200 remember

the hp one is in stock at ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/product/175586
Am looking at the asus 25.5
As its kinda the same spec as my asus 24''
But am out of date with specs

I'm no expert on TFT displays but I'd looks ok, 2ms response time, a lot of inputs
1 x Component Video
1 x D-Sub
1 x DVI-D
1 x HDMI
Good if you need them, pointless if not. Personally I only really need DVI-D, but nice to have VGA for use with older systems, I suppose the HDMI would be useful for input from a second new PC easily converted from DVI.
4 posts in 2 minutes DarkWhisper? Really?
If you are after a 24" monitor I can again recommend the dell S2409W as it's awesome![]()
Dark Whisper, whether you intended it or not, posting 4 one-line posts in rapid succession follows exactly the pattern some people use when they are spamming posts to hit the 20-post requirement for free shipping from Scan.
Just so you know, the requirement, if that is what you have in mind, is 20 non-spamming posts. It really isn't that hard to do properly, and when people try to take short cuts, it tends to annoy both us and Scan, and the risk then is that they will simply refuse to validate the free shipping deal.
So, if free shipping is what you had in mind, please don't do that or you risk losing it.
And if it isn't, please don't do that because it irritates the board mods and clutters up the thread.
no i wasnt doing that. just wanted 5 so i could put the link up. nothing ment from it. sorry
I would prefer 1920 x 1200 monitor.
Personally because I have the start menu Bottom, Web pages and Progs always have junk at the Top of them and the extra height just makes more sense and I have a 47" TV on the wall also hooked up to the Computer for watching Films.
Does the extra width help or lack of height hinder in games tho?
Am in the same sit. Ive had a 24'' for three years now and using this 1280/1024. is really getting on my nerves.
For me, 16:9 it's perfect for web browsing and word processing (2 sheets of A4 side by side @ 100%). In games it is equally good but for watching films it has the advantage of 16:9 being standard(er).
