Interesting that the max power consumption is higher than the 5850.

That power consumption figure is a bit weird, could be a typo? Will be interesting to see how it performs against the 5770 as they will be in the same price bracket. The 4770 was pretty similar to the 4830 and i guess it will be the same case here.
The figures a a touch low compared to the 5770 in some cases. To be honest, the power consumption is still low enough for me![]()
The number of shaders is odd - all previous rumours were of a 1280 shader card. I'd guess that they've gone through the binned parts and found they can rescue a lot more at 1120 shaders than 1280, which should help them keep the price a touch lower...
Hmmm, looking at the cut down card has put me off slightly.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Me too!!![]()
The TDP figures look terrible. The HD4830 had better power consumption than the HD4850 for example but the HD5830 is looking more like the HD4730 when compared to the HD4770. The HD5850 looks like it is going to perform better and consume less power too!!
It means that I am stuck with getting an HD5770 if I want to replace the HD4830 in my computer in the next few months. Hopefully Nvidia can come up with something better in a similar TDP and price range as the HD5770 in the summer.
yes i was looking forward to this card but maybe its a fake ( hopefully fake details ) but then again if its the same price as the 5770 the 168 pounds amazon said then i wud buy it
The HD5830 looks huge:
