    Short PCB HD5830

It seems that the rumours that some of the HD5830 cards would use HD5770 PCBs or at least PCBs similar in length to the one found in the HD5770 are true:

    http://www.xfxforce.com/en-gb/produc...ries/5830.aspx

The card looks exactly like the XFX HD5750 though:

    http://www.xfxforce.com/en-gb/produc...ries/5750.aspx

It would be interesting to see reviews of the actual card. Hopefully this will mean the card will also consume less power.

    Product appearance may vary

As the 5830 just seem to be binned chips it is possible that some will have far lower power demands, but will xfx actually test them before just slapping them on a card?

It looks like it although the 5830's fan is more oval than round compared to the 5750...

yep the hole in the plastic cover looks more oval, wonder if they shrunk it in photoshop to just drop it over the 5750 picture?

It is uncannily similar on the pcb below the actual coolers. The angles are identical...

    Re: Short PCB HD5830

I was going to post suggesting to open each link in a separate tab and flip between the two, which would show it's the exact same photo. But it looks like they've updated the 5830 page with different photos. Looks like a normal length card now.

    Re: Short PCB HD5830

It does now appear to be a 5850 PCB with a 5770 cooler - which seems foolish given the card is meant to have a higher TDP than a 5850 - I'd be worried about how that cooler is going to cope...
