NV40 - drivers not all they cracked up to be?

    Hi All

Now we all know that the NV60 drivers aren't final - and niether are the boards - but driverheaven have done an Image Quality test with some interesting results:

I especially like the Max Payne test.

And for anyone wondering the difference between FarCry with PS2.0 and PS3.0 here it is:

    Apparently none whatsoever.

No its 60 drivers for the nv40, current drivers are 5.9 something I think.

alternatively, drop the "nv40" & replace with "geforce 6800", which fits with 6x.xx drivers - much as 5x.xx for geforce 5x00 range, 4x.xx for 4x00 range, etc

It's just more marketing bollocks that we'll have to put up with until we get retail version of both cards which can then be fully and independently tested..

If the 3dmark things are true (approved drivers that are deliberately tweaked for benchmarking) then they're about to lose any credibility they had left, if they allow baised drivers through then you might as well start calling it it nVidia 3dMark 04 now..
