    Well done m8

Worth it IMHO. New generation is indeed coming out soon, however prices of current generation cards have stabilised for a couple of weeks now, In all honesty I'll be suprised if they fall much lower.

9800Pro will happily run anything out there. Nuff 'said

blimey.. just got some more emails.. it's picked already and awaiting despatch.... that's quick... wonder if they've overclocked their ordering system

And yes I'm well aware the new generation cards are out soon... but how long have 9800 pros been out? and I can only just afford one now.... figured this would be the biggest bang for the least dollar, and it'll kepp me going for a while I'd imagine.. my 32MB GeForce2 lasted me years

Demand for sensibly priced cards is still high... the prices will not drop suddenly and drastically only gradually as per every other next gen release. New cards will be sold in small quantities to early adopters. I don't think waiting makes much difference... only if you wait long enough could you have considered a mid range new generation card rather than the 9800pro. Good card and great performance for the price.

The prices will probably got up slightly if anything. Like the 9500's did when the 9600 came out - demand outstrips supply, and the prices rise..

Well played for taking the plunge and going for it, everyone always says "But wait until the next gen <hardware> comes out" , if you do that all the time, you will never buy new computer hardware! Especially at the speed the market progresses

just wondering: where did you get it from, and for how much?

Ordered mine from lowest on wednesday, and it only got despatched today, even after paying a tenner extra for "24 hour" delivery - admittedly from despatch date, but if I'm paying a tenner I don't expect to have to wait til bliddy monday - especially when I haven't got a PC in the interim time :-(

What's all this 'you should have waited, they'll be cheaper in 9 years time' stuff? Everything will be cheaper if you leave it for a while... everything.

What are we all supposed to do, sit there with crapo graphics cards, because there's never a time worth buying one?

How about buying one, enjoying it, and just accepting that the prices of computer items will always come down, as new and better stuff is released.

    Enjoy Tumble.

precisely why I've waited until now to get one... cos tbh.. you stay one, maybe 2 steps behind the current "Best Thing" and it'll always be cheaper for you, and you still get a kick-ass system... I only got a 1 GHz + CPU last year
