Re: New 23/24" TN Monitor
I have the VGA only version of that SM2343BW. It's about £130 from eBuyer and it's an amazing screen. I bought it to replace 2 of those Samsung SM2443BW's actually.
Better picture quality, worse viewing angles.

I'm guessing that'll be the NW then?
Why did you replace the 24" Samsungs, out of interest? Unimpressed with the picture quality?

Yeah, that's the NW. I've not seen a BW to compare it to though.

I was moving house into a much smaller bedroom, so I bought one of these and sold the 2 monitors, just because of desk space really.
The picture quality was good, but when I compared them to this, they weren't as good :(. Even though they used DVI.

Ah right, yeah didn\'t think of that one. I\'ve only barely got space for the 24", which is also making me lean towards the 23".

1080p though isn\'t it? I\'m avoiding them like the plague, not keen on the one I\'ve got in front of me right now.

Samsung 24" SM2443BW, 1920x1200: £250
I've liked the Samsung for ages, but the price is pretty crazy so I'm looking at alternatives.
I've got a 1920x1080 panel at work, and find it a bit annoying, as I want more pixels vertically - so I'm not sure what to do here. I'm tempted to think that the 23" monitors with the extra 72 vertical pixels might do the trick, but I'm not sure... £90 seems a lot to shell out for 48 pixels vertically, especially when I get less horizontally.
I have that 2048x1152 screen at home and am very happy with it. More usable than the dual monitor 1280x1024 I have at work.
Of course what you really want is three of them in portrait mode running Eyefinity, maximum pixels for very little desk space ;)
Re: New 23/24" TN Monitor
Yeah, that would be lovely... although there's no way it would fit, and bezels are spawn of the devil :p
Think I'll go for the 23" Samsung based on the advice so far though, considering the saving I'll make it looks like it's well worth going for. Now it's just got to pass the "Female Value For Money" Test... :undecided

Just to muddy the waters:

Slighty cheaper 24" 1920x1200 at Novatech if you prefer 16:10 format.
Re: New 23/24" TN Monitor
I do prefer the 16:10 format, I just can't bring myself to buy a screen with a glossy edge...

Then you'll be wanting the 30" model, pushing the glossy edge out to your peripheral vision ;)
Re: New 23/24" TN Monitor
Ah yes, that'll do nicely :).
The only slight issue might come when we undergo the "Female Value For Money" Test and its Shoe Ratio Value (SRV) is calculated... I doubt it'd be pretty

lol, that sounds familiar. My monitor and the last two TVs (bedroom and living room) have both resulted in an "oh my god" reaction. Having said that, she loves the Samsung TV in the living room so hopefully she is warming to big screens now :)

I totally empaphise. "HOW MUCH!?" is the usual reaction I get. This is why we have a joint account for the house stuff/day to day stuff and separate accounts for everything else! :)
Back on topic:
I know it's a 1080 panel but the Samsung SyncMaster F2380M is meant to be excellent too:
