    Which 5850?

    Hi peeps

I am wondering which is the best 5850 to get frome the ones below.

Going to order it from scan next Friday so thats why i have only listed the cards which are in stock

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-S...-DVI-I-DP-HDMI

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-X...-DL-DVI-I-HDMI

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-XFX-HD-5850-XXX-PCI-E-20%28x16%29-4500MHz-GDDR5-GPU-755MHz-1440-Cores-DP-2x-DL-DVI-I-HDMI

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-X...ns-vs-Predator

Not bothered if it comes bundled with a game as I will probably never get around to downloading it

    Thanks

I would wait until the GTX470 and GTX480 are released next week TBH. Also if you are paying over £250 for an HD5850 1GB you might as well get an HD5870 1GB as a few have been available for under £300 recently.

Looked into upgrading my 9800GTX+ to one of these (when Bad Company 2 was constantly CTD) and I really liked the Vapor-X model.

I would say see what price the toxic drops downs to a few weeks after the new nvidia cards come out.

I swear the 5850s were dead cheap (ie sub £200) when they first came out.

    Re: Which 5850?

Powercolors PCS cards are decent from what I've seen.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Which 5850?

So do the differences in speeds for the 5850s make much difference?

the max size monitor i will be using will be 1080p

I wish i could get a 5870 but I could use the extra cash to go towards a fan controller.

    Re: Which 5850?

I was going to say wait for friday and see if any go on "today only" however looking at the very limited stock the chance of one going on today only is not so good.
