Any difference in PhysX between ATI and NVidia?

Does anyone know if there is any cons to physX on an ATI card as opposed to NVidia? (whom developed physX)

No such thing as physX on ATI card as it's not licensed to them by nVidia.
    (whom developed physX)
Not really, they bought the company who did.

Well, on one, it works, on the other its utterly destroyed with the slightest hint of anything ATi near your computer.

There was a rumour that ATI card could be made to run PhysX a couple years ago, nothing seems to have come from it though, I've your really desperate to have PhysX on a ATI system, drop in a cheap nvidia 8000 series or better and run windows 7

Well as running physx on non-nvidia hardware is breaking lisenceing agreements I think hacked might be more appropriate.

agreed, but we where talking about running a system with both ATI and Nvidia and the fact that the latest nvidia drivers disable PhysX if an ATI card is present.

a PATCH is then required to enable PhysX again

Re: Any difference in PhysX between ATI and NVidia?

the way they do that is worse than stuff microsoft did, I think they only reason they get away with it is because politicians don't have a clue about games, the behaviour is going on in the equivalent of a dark alley away from the main arguments because way more people use computers than play games (even including consoles). Hopefully as it gets more mainstream and the older generation dies off so that we have a generation that grew up with games in power that will change.
