Just that.
Who think's ATI/AMD cards are better value for money, bang for buck than nVidia right now?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
dunno my gtx 480 in my new build was £450 which was £100 more than 1 5870. But I'm a gamer so it does more and runs faster without optimised drivers - is it worth an extra £100? Only time will tell.
but it is a xbox vs ps3 argument at the end of the day :-)

To be honest I'd rather Nvidia and AMD have more competition as most games are bottlenecked by graphics rather than RAM or CPU.. But at the end of the day something like a single 5870 provides 60fps on average for most games at 1980*1080 anyway but I'm not sure I'd want to spend £300+ when I could get a console.
Either way, right now it is hard to "vote" for Nvidia right now, especially after many many rebadges.
Is there a debate? I thought it was pretty clear Ati/AMD have the upper ground now - just like Nvidia the lead right the way until 4XXX series from AMD really, HD 2XXX and 3XXX were just uncompetitive compared to 8800 and derivatives, but now the tables have turned.
Just gone from 8800GT->5850, my 8800 was looking forward to a relaxing retirement where its most strenuous activity was some Aero effects, but it turned out its true calling was to do hardcore 24/7 GPU folding for Team HeXus in the secondary PC!!! Better than being a dedicated PhysX slave to its Ati nemesis I guess!
I have to admit I am an AMD fan in a way, even though I do run whats best value, ceteris parabus I'll take the AMD product. My first self-build was a Barton core 3000+ and a Radeon 9800XT, those were the days! TEAM RED!
keep those votes coming pls![]()
