Please delete - Setting up dual cards - GTX 480 and GTX 285 for PhysX
Hi,
Just saw this article about setting up a second card to use Physx.
Where do you do the setup to enable Physx on each card, and has anyone tried this?
I ask because I've got a spare GTX 285 which is just sitting in an open workbench folding, and it could be working on improving my framerates in Crysis and Just Cause 2....
Many thanks
Mike
Re: Setting up dual cards - GTX 480 and GTX 285 for PhysX
Yes you can do that it's just a simple setting in the nvidia control panel, however having a gtx285 just as a physx card for games is so ridiculous it's silly.
It would be akin to buying that gtx480 so you can play tetris.
Your best bet would be to sell it and use the money to buy a lower end cheaper card, like a 8800gt or 9800gtx that's if you really want to run a separate physx card.
First thing to ask though is do you play any physx games? and with the power of the gtx480 does currently turning on and off the physx actually have any effect?

I'll be honet with you, I've no idea if any of the games that I play utilise PhysX. Most of them have the NVidia - The way it's meant ot be played, but I haven't seen any mention of PhysX in there. I've got an 8800GTX also which I was thinking of getting rid of, and keep the better card for PhysX.
I've just checked the list: and it appears that NONE of the games that I play are on there.
Thanks for stating the obvious, but you were absolutely right! Might put the GTX 285 up for sale in that case....
