Just read it :)
Looks like graphics card tech has taken an evolutionary leap forward :D
neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed! ©
um, he never commented on the new 3Dc compression techniques?
It's not evolution as the core is based on an old design, the next ATi card will be evolution.
It is a performance evolution as it's double the previous generation's performance rather than a small increase as per previous generations.
I think i know which card im getting next :D
How long untill they are expected to hit retail?
hmmm nice review indeed.
Now does one aquire a nice 6800 ultra card or the X800 when my cash comes through?
Best go flip a coin - best out of 100 I think :)
Did I really just fit a 9800 XT? .....please tell me I didn't...oh well, timing is everything.
/me adds to wish list
Hardocp.com review of the X800 cards suggest that the X800Pro will be on sale any day now. YAY!!
Wonder how long it'll take for the cards to appear over here !??!?!Quote:
The X800Pro should be selling in major retail online outlets today, May 4th, and selling for an MSRP of $399. The X800XT Platinum Edition will begin shipping to retailers by May 21st and will be sold at an MSRP of $499.
Well basically it beats nvidia on 3d mark which is gd enough for me :P
also one floppy power connector :O beautifully engineered ;-)
WOW!!!! a huge leap forward, can't wait to get hold of one of these monsters. :D Yay for ATi

it utterly obliterates anything that's gone before it when maximum respective AA modes are enabled, current 6800 Ultra included.
:eek:Quote:
Then we come on to its form factor. You simply cannot ignore small PCB size, lower than 9800 XT power draw, no need for two power connectors, single slot cooler profile and cool running. You can run an X800 XT or PRO in a Shuttle XPC and that's all the confirmation you need of its excellent engineering.
exciting times :D
Hopefully the retail versions of the new cards should hit the shelves soon :)
Faster at higher AA modes, no need for power station to power it AND it will fit in an XPC. Nvidia must be feeling pretty gutted at the moment.
Sounds like a damn nice card, gonna wait until something PCI Express comes along as I just forked out for a 9800 Pro.
No doubt one will be appearing on PCI Express sometime soon
